Nursing-home workers come to work only to be told they’re not needed and need to go back home. Shifts are short-staffed and you’re told to make the best of it. If someone doesn’t show up to work, then you have to pick up the extra residents with no extra help.
When you’re a member of SEIU 775, you don’t have to just accept chaos and unfair scheduling. Your contract holds management accountable for consistent and fair scheduling and when things go off track, you have a way to take immediate, direct action to fix the situation.
